Kris Aquino Versus Another Woman Controversy

Kris Aquino is again the top of the headlines. What a not-so-good controversy to start the year 2010.

I was reading broadsheet papers and tabloids earlier today and was a bit surprised on the many headlines, again glaring Kris Aquino’s name, and another word — marriage. Being the big Kris Aquino fan that I am, I excitedly read the article to know what the issue is all about.

Rumors have it that Kris confronted a woman allegedly having an affair with her husband James by raising her voice and even shouted at the woman’s mother. Having read a couple of related articles across different newspapers earlier today, I got confused about the issue because almost every newspaper article about Kris and her current marriage has a different version of the story compared with the other newspapers. So, I waited for a couple of hours to watch The Buzz where Kris is a host, expecting that she will break her silence, and she actually did.

THE BUZZ INTERVIEW

It was almost a half-an-hour interview where Kris talked to her dear friend Boy Abunda on national television. In the interview, she explained every detail of the controversy. RShe explained how she went to the other woman’s house, which is just two streets away from the comfort of their home in the same upscale subdivision where the Aquino-Yap family currently lives.

If you ask who the other woman was, I’m not sure if I got the name right, but as I heard it, it’s MAYEN AUSTRIA, just an ordinary citizen and has neither political nor showbiz industry connection whatsoever.

I’m not going to include in this post everything she said and everything that has happened during the interview. One interesting note to consider however, was when Kris was warned by one of The Buzz staff to not further say anything related to her brother Noynoy Aquino as this might lead to her violating one of ABS-CBN’s Code of Ethics. But she nicely said: “Ian, don’t stop me. Magtutuloy-tuloy ako.” As expected, nobody was able to stop her from saying what she wanted to say. Being the Queen of All Media, the most prized possession of ABS-CBN, highest paid and one of the most influential TV personality crown to boot, who would ever dare to stop her?

Honestly, while watching Kris, I have to say that I was nervous with the next few words she has uttered. Of course, you can’t deny the fact that the entire Aquino family is under the public’s eye for one obvious reason:

The Aquino family is a prominent clan both in showbiz and politics. Kris Aquino, being tagged as the Queen of All Media, has always been the center of attraction, which also leads her to being the center of controversies.

Now, why am I nervous, you might ask. Simple. Again, being the Kris Aquino fan that I am, and is also a supporter of Noynoy Aquino, we can’t deny the fact that what Kris has mentioned in her interview will affect in one way or another the candidacy of his brother. Noynoy Aquino’s detractors will use this issue against him, to be able to scrap his supporters away from him and will eventually be under public scrunity — all because of Kris Aquino, James Yap and that other woman, Mayen Austria.

Another issue exploded because of this controversy when Boy Abunda asked Kris about the current status of their marriage. Kris then queued Boy that they can now pause for a commercial break after her long story on how it all started. When they went on-air again, a teary-eyed Kris Aquino faced us. Their current situation as I write this, is not okay. Kris, along with her sons Joshua and baby James has left their family’s house and for the meantime will be living with her elder sister. Kris said that she still loves James and still hopes that the problem in their marriage would still be fixed as soon as possible. <– That, I’m also hoping for.

It’s been long since I last wrote a long-winded article about a serious topic. It’s because of the obvious reason I’ve been saying here all the while, because I am a big Kris Aquino fan.

On where this issue is heading, how Kris and James Yap be able to fix their problem, how the problem between Kris and that Mayen Austria will progress: that is what I’m excited about, same with the thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of Kris Aquino fans.
