Top 10 Hit Songs – May 2009 Issue

Posted on 07. Sep, 2009 by Bunsoi in Hit Songs Monthly Issue, Music Gallery

I know this post is a wee bit late. But I’ll still be posting this for the purpose of completion of my 2009 hit songs series. LOL. Anyway, rest assured that the hit songs to be enumerate below are the songs that made it big last May 2009. Some of the songs below are already included in the past issues of the 2009 hit songs monthly series, and so the description or reviews of each of these songs were just copied from its initial review.

1. Halo – Beyonce

I first heard this with YouTube’s another Pinoy singing sensation Rin on the Rox performing it, but I wasn’t as attached to that song before as I am today. And it can be largely attributed to my crush, the subject of my personal lovelife post. *** was singing it loudly when my college friend Dimples and I were sitting at the 5th Floor of Finster Hall. Gahd. Kapoi elaborate. Nag Bisaya lagi kog kalit? LOL.

While listening to *** sing, Dimples asked me,

Oh what do you want, Pat? I also have that Halo mp3 file on my cp, you want me to play it? Mas malakas baya ang audio nito compared sa cp niya. LOL.

When I went home, I immediately downloaded that Halo song, and voila! It became my LSS for several days and an instant favorite of Bunsoi!

2.  Jai Ho – Pussycat Dolls

This song is Pussycat Doll’s own rendition from the theme song of the hit Bollywood movie Slumdog Millionaire. And I also remember when my groupmates dance to the beat of this song during our presentation last summer class. And, yes, you’re right. I fell in love with the song.

3.  Thinking of You – Katy Perry

A copy from my previous 2009 hit songs article from the same entry Thinking of You by Katy Perry.

From the girl who brought us two hit songs I Kissed A Girl and Hot N Cold, comes another 2009 hit song Thinking of You. I think this song is about how the girl * I assume it as Katy herself in the song * feels the pain being with the man she doesn’t really love, and the pain that lingers inside her everytime this man kiss her, hug her and yet what Katy sees, feels and hopes that the man doing those to her is her love of her life, and that is the soldier man, blah blah. haha. Trivia: Her real man in the music video of this hit song is Matt Dallas, my favorite actor from my favorite ABC Family Series Kyle XY. That’s it.

4. Single Ladies – Beyonce

The single ladies fever is still on. LOL. I don’t know why. But everytime I listen to this song, I still can’t help but dance, haha. I think it’s more on the content of this song that makes me very attached to it.

5.   If U Seek Amy – Britney Spears

If U Seek Amy song of  my favorite Hollywood pop singer Britney wasn’t able to enter even for the Top 3 for the 2009 hit songs chart race. Why? Though I really love the song because of its naughtiness, it wasn’t able to catch the attention of most Filipino music lovers. Or is it because Pinoy are too innocent YET for this kind of new songs? Sheeeesh.

6. Love Story – Taylor Swift

No need for explanation. This song is always played wherever I go. But it’s not just because of the playtimes as the reason that this hit song remains in this issue, it’s also because of the classic content of a fairytale-like story made into a song. *That I believe everybody wants, right?* *sigh*

7. There You’ll Be – Nina

Well this song’ not exactly new. This is a song originally sang by  Faith Hill and was revived by my favorite local pop artist Nina. Download it guys. Sobrang sarap pakinggan.

8.   Insomnia – Craig David

I’m not really a fan of Craig David. However, prior to his much-hyped Craig David Live in Manila Concert last month, I downloaded this song of his and just like Halo, I instantly fell in love with it. I can so relate to the song because you know the feeling that you keep on thinking of the person you like *well ehem, in my case: i love*, ahh basta! Hahaha. I mean, you keep on thinking about that person without you realizing that he/she is becoming the reason why you sleep late at night.

9. Poker Face – Lady Gaga

No more explanation. This song is a strong contender for the yearend 2009 hit songs article that I’ll be announcing. Poker Face has been in the Top 10 Hit Songs article series for over four months now.

10.  My Life Would Suck Without You – Kelly Clarkson

Why? Because I can so related with the title. My life *Bunsoi’s life, that is* will suck without YOU *from the article Desperately in love with someone*. Enough said.

Thanks for reading everyone! :-)
