Pinoy Guy Guide – Philippines Number 1 Guy Guide

Posted on 17. Oct, 2008 by Bunsoi in Entertainment, Student Teen Lifestyle

When I was browsing the net way back May 2008, I stumbled upon a blogsite which has a description of a site that I was looking for sometime then. A guy guide. The site I’m talking about is no other than Pinoy Guy Guide.

Today, for some who’s been living in a cave and haven’t heard of this site since it was established, and for the fellow readers of PGG, I present to you Pinoy Guy Guide as a Featured Blog here in Patricio el Suplado.
What caught my attention about this site is its description: Philippines Ultimate Online Blog Magazine for Men, which is coincidentally almost the same as mine, and has a very similar concept, online magazine.

For your information, this blog just won at the recently concluded prestigious Philippine Blog Awards 2008 for the category, Best Blog for Fashion and Lifestyle. *bravo*

This blog features stuffs most urban males are interested at. From gadgets and technology, perfumes, clothings, style to women pick-up lines; definitely, this blog got the attention of the public due to it. It also has a PGG Message Forum where men discusses things about everything under the sun. From women qualities every male individuals look for even to the topic traditional women would most likely puke, masturbation. And as I see it, more and more people are joining the forums and interacting with other men online about experiences and other stuffs.

Going back to the site, the most commented article Chris wrote was “Whitening Skin for Men”. Surprisingly, it has a whopping 97 comments and counting, which just proves urban males are becoming more and more vain. * Just like me who aspires to have a fairer skin one of these days, haha.*

And when we talk about men as the subject, girls would always come the way. So for the naughty men reading this *ehem*, Chris also has some treats in store for you for his article “PGG’s Hottie of the Moment” articles; one of the most viewed one is Beyonce Knowles. It also features bands and hit songs that caters men’s type of music.

So, being my featured blog, allow me to share with you a rare interview I had with its blogmaster Chris and his beloved blog, here it goes: (Note: Since the interview is quite lengthy, I just enclosed it here in a scrollbox, feel free to read significant parts of the interview.)

The author is Chris, who works in an IT industry and prefers to keep us guessing on his actually age, haha.

1. When did you first encountered blogs?

I first encountered blogs as early as 2002 or 2003. That time I didn’t know what the term “blog” actually meant. I just thought that it was an ordinary static website that we always see around.

2. Why blog?

I blog because I have a passion for writing. It’s a form of outlet for me in order to release my stress, to relax and to simply enjoy. I like expressing my ideas and the best way to do that is by blogging because I can say what I want to the rest of the world. I also love interacting with people online and I’m always very excited to receive comments on my blog :)

3. When did you exactly put up your blog?

I actually have several blogs. I’ve been blogging as early as 2004. Most of them are personal and private blogs and no one knows about it. However in February 24, 2007, I wanted to go public and for the very first time I launched a blog, Pinoy Guy Guide – which is meant for public reading with a “personal” touch to it.

4. Tell us some story behind the construction of your blog.

Hmm, let’s see. well initially I started to write PGG on blogspot. It was really fun! During that time, I just wrote whatever topic that came to my mind and I didn’t care much if people would read it or not. Just the mere fact that I’m expressing my ideas was enough for me to enjoy every bit of it.
Then afterwards, I noticed that people would come to my blog to read and to post their comments. Soon, more and more people discovered PGG and the rest, as they say it is history… :)

5. What’s the feeling that you won one of the most coveted awards in the PBA2?

I’m very happy. Seriously! It was like winning in the Famas Awards!

6. Why do you think you won?

I think it’s because of the readers like you who support the blog. I couldn’t have done it without the support and inspiration from the readers…

7. Any inspirational message to other bloggers ( like me ) and starters who wishes to have a superb blog like yours?

Continue to write, write, write because writing HAS to be your passion. Without writing there is no blogging at all. So just do what you are doing now, I know you are doing well with PES.

Everytime I go online, this blog is one of the few I never fail to visit, and just then I realized it has become my favorite that I bookmarked it on our PC, and the rest is history.

Thanks for this interview Chris!
